Founded in 1959 and located in Lallio (Bergamo, Italy), it specializes in the production of gray and ductile iron castings mainly intended for the following sectors: Hydraulics, Transmissions, Agriculture, Automotive and Furnitures.
It is part of EF Group consisting of four companies including three foundries and one machining unit, which is the largest Italian foundry group and one of the largest in Europe.
Pilenga and Baldassarre Foundry is capable of producing castings with unit weights between 0.200 kg and 350 kg divided among the following products : valves and pumps, supports, parts for transmissions, compressors and gearboxes, heating parts, parts for agricultural and automotive machinery.
Certified ISO 9001/2015, 14001/2015, OHSAS 18001/2007 in the areas of Quality, Safety and Environment, the foundry has a team of 100 people and supplies 80% to the Italian market and 20% to the export market.

The need requested by the foundry arises from the pursuit of obtaining a production process that is as linear as possible. In particular, with regard to the shredding operation, what is required is to operate with safe machines, as ergonomic as possible, which have the adequate power to intervene effectively on our sand attachment sections, and which are easily maintainable.
Designed to make the dematerialization operations of spheroidal cast iron castings easy, the system made by Primafond is composed of 4 wedge dematerializers of different power moved by as many hydraulic power packs, hanging above a feed belt thanks to a structure composed of suspended monorails, perfect for linear and suspended wedge handling.
The model “SMAT 50 mini” handy and fast, suitable for small spaces between jet and mat, usable with one hand.
The “SMAT 50 /G” model equipped with a swivel head, which allows simplifying the wedge entry position, suitable for breaking medium and large sized sprues and castings.
The above solutions, transferred to 2 production lines of Pilenga Baldassarre Foundry, have yielded the desired results. The use of safe and ergonomic equipment has made it easier for operators to maneuver by reducing risk and physical exertion. In addition, the adequate power allowed for effective action on the sprue attachment sections, increasing the efficiency of the dematerialization process, making maintenance easy and minimal, for increased productivity.
