THE ORIGINS
Founder Claudio Cavedon, born in 1941, began his career in the field of mechanical engineering applied to foundries at CPF in Marano Vicentino, and later in plant handling with Brevetti Cavedon.
In 1975, he co-founded IMAFOND, a company dedicated to building core shooting machines using Shell Moulding and Cold Box processes, serving both the Italian and international markets.
THE BIRTH OF PRIMAFOND
PRIMAFOND was established in Thiene (VI), specializing in the design and manufacture of core shooting machines. From the very beginning, the founder was supported by his wife Caterina Cavion, and the family-run business solidified with the involvement of their daughters Silvana and Elsa, along with sons-in-law Gianmario Dalla Vecchia and Stefano Fontana. The company expanded into reconditioning used machines and deburring ductile iron castings using various models of wedge breakers.
GROWTH AND INNOVATION
The company expanded its facilities and product range, introducing innovative solutions for sand reclamation and catalyst consumption reduction.
Primafond supplied equipment to Ferrari Spa, enhancing its international reputation, launched new core shooters for the non-ferrous sector at the global GIFA trade exhibition, and introduced impact breakers for deburring operations.
RESILIENCE AND GLOBAL NETWORKS
Primafond overcame the 2009 economic crisis without interruptions and launched the Partner Project to strengthen its international collaboration network and foster customer loyalty in Italy through personalized offers, support, and additional consulting services.
It received the Economic Progress Award from the Vicenza Chamber of Commerce for its entrepreneurial contribution to local development.
CONTINUITY AND A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
To ensure generational continuity, the company signed the “Entrepreneurial Continuity Pact” and further expanded its facility with the installation of a photovoltaic system.
With increasingly central roles, Gianmario Dalla Vecchia and Stefano Fontana are leading the development of inorganic technology aimed at achieving high production quality and healthier working environments.
RECOGNITION AND DIGITAL TRANSITION
As a member of Amafond, the Italian Association of Foundry Suppliers, Primafond celebrated the Career Achievement Award given to the founder Claudio Cavedon for his contribution to the history of the Italian foundry industry.
In line with its ongoing commitment to technological advancement, the company offers its customers the opportunity to benefit from the “Industry 4.0” plan.
